Level 4 Combined Laser and Intense Pulsed Light IPL Course

Course Content 

This course requires – 60 hours home study and to complete 3 case studies

Day 1

Dat 1 covers comprehensive training in salon health and safety, sterilisation methods, laser machine operation, characteristics, wavelengths, and energy density. It includes understanding diseases, skin anatomy, hair growth, and hormonal effects. Participants learn safe environment establishment, consultation, medical considerations, consent procedures, and treatment protocols. The curriculum encompasses patch testing, aftercare, and treatment effectiveness. Students practice on diverse conditions using IPL and Nd: YAG lasers, with emphasis on client preparation, sensation description, and protective eyewear. The course ensures mastery in photo rejuvenation, red vein removal, and laser hair removal, with thorough demonstrations and supervised practice sessions, concluding with detailed client aftercare guidance.

Day 2

How to prepare client for treatment, hair types and colour which can be treated, length between sessions, aftercare treatment. Recommended session guide, The correct use of ‘Record Log Sheets’. All laser treatments are logged and dated to record any changes to medication, all areas treated. IPL and Nd: YAG fluencies of each treatment, safe parameters of laser machines for effective treatments. Patient skin type (According to the Fitzpatrick Classification for Sun-Reactive Skin Types), number of shots used and recorded per treatment, the reaction and evaluation of each treatment and cost of each treatment.

Day 3

Day 3 of this course covers comprehensive training in thread vein removal procedures using IPL and Nd: YAG machines, with demonstrations on face and body areas. It includes understanding safe laser parameters and practice sessions supervised by experts. Protective eyewear is mandatory for both clients and therapists. The curriculum also includes photo-rejuvenation treatments for various skin conditions, with emphasis on product knowledge, treatment setup, and client aftercare. Gain practical experience in performing photo-rejuvenation treatments under supervision, with guidance on retail and pricing strategies.
