Course Content

This course requires – 60 hours home study and to complete 3 case studies

Day 1

Day 1 of the Level 4 Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Course covers comprehensive salon health & safety, tool sterilization methods, laser machine operation including characteristics and safety parameters, skin diseases & disorders, skin and hair anatomy & physiology, hair growth causes and types, creating a safe environment, thorough laser consultation covering medical contra-indications and consent, treatment protocols, patch testing, and aftercare. It includes red vein removal, laser hair removal, and photo-rejuvenation treatments. Emphasis on protective measures, equipment usage, and client preparation. Practice sessions with strict supervision and client aftercare guidance provided.

Day 2

Day 2 of the Level 4 Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Course covers preparation of clients for treatment, eligible hair types and colors, session intervals, and aftercare are covered. The use of Record Log Sheets for documenting treatments, including medication changes, treated areas, and treatment evaluation is emphasized. Safe laser parameters are outlined. Thread vein removal procedures are detailed, along with safety considerations. Protective goggles are mandatory. Practice sessions for students under supervision are provided for thread vein and photo-rejuvenation treatments. Aftercare advice is given. Photo-rejuvenation targets various skin issues, with emphasis on product knowledge, treatment setup, and protective measures. Retail and pricing guidance is included.
