Back Acupressure Massage

Our Back Acupressure Massage course teaches techniques to relieve tension and promote relaxation by applying pressure to specific points on the back. You will learn about acupressure theory, identifying pressure points and practising effective massage techniques. The course covers client assessment, contraindications and post massage care. You will gain hands-on experience through practical training sessions.

Back Acupressure Massage also known as seated massage, is designed to work the upper posterior of the body, to aid muscle tension, help relieve back pain, stress, fatigue, headaches and can be used to manage upper back pain.  Acupressure uses a posture chair for correct spine alignment and pressure point technique to stimulate the body's circulatory, lymphatic and hormonal systems. 

Course content

• Introduction to acupressure: 
  • Understanding the principles and theory behind acupressure massage, including its origins and benefits.
• Pressure points identification: 
  • Learning to identify key pressure points on the back and their corresponding effects on the body.
• Massage techniques: 
  • Exploring various massage techniques used in back acupressure, such as circular motions, kneading and tapping.
• Client assessment: 
  • Understanding the importance of client assessment, including medical history, to tailor the massage session effectively.
• Contraindications and safety: 
  • Identifying contraindications and safety considerations to ensure safe and effective treatment.
• Practical application: 
  • Hands-on training sessions to practice acupressure massage techniques under supervision.
• Post massage care: 
  • Providing guidance on post-massage care and recommendations for clients to enhance the effects of the treatment.

Additional information

We do not provide kits in our training course packages. However, we supply all necessary equipment for practical training. You're encouraged to select brands and tools that best suit you, with guidance from your tutor. Upon completing the Back Acupressure Massage course, you'll receive an accredited qualification for insurance purposes. Verify that your insurer covers the treatment without additional fees. While insured on the training day, you must arrange your own insurance thereafter. Existing policyholders should add the new service to their policy. Insurance remains your responsibility.
