Chemical Skin Peel (Group training)
A chemical skin peel is a treatment in which an acid solution is used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. This creates a uniform and controlled shedding of several layers of the skin. In performing chemical peels, therapists apply alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) such as glycolic acid; or beta hydroxy such as salicylic acid. The acids aid in the removal or shedding of the outer layers of dead skin. This will reveal a new skin layer with improved tone, texture and colour. It will also speed up the process of cell renewal and production; creating a visible fresher and more vibrant appearance.
Course structure
You will be provided with pre-course reading which will cover basic anatomy and physiology, and health and safety. This will be recapped in your session.
The chemical skin peel course will be completed in one day between 10am-3pm (times may vary). You will learn the theory of the treatment as well as carry out practical assessments on live models.
A practical assessment is carried out using a model allowing you the maximum time during the training to work upon acquiring and demonstrating the required technique. We recommend bringing your own model. If you can’t, let the Academy know at least 48 hours before your course. The Academy can support with finding you a model for a £10 admin fee.
