Course Structure
Day 1 Induction and health & safety
Day 2 – 7 All practical's to be carried out
Home study completing assignments and case studies. Upon completion of these we usually give 3 months to get these completed, you would attend a further 4 days to complete all your assessments and get your portfolio signed off.
You will be taught the skills required on your nail course at Chic Aesthetics & Beauty Academy by our qualified NVQ trainers at one of our training centres. There will be theory lessons as well as practical lessons. You will be producing a portfolio as you go along showcasing photographs, practical assessment, written assignments, oral questions and answers. Home study will be set to help reinforce classroom learning. With the practical lessons students will be working with each other as well as real clients so you can be assessed in a real environment.
Course Content
- Body Massage
In this unit, learn the art of body massage techniques including various strokes, pressures and sequences to relax muscles, improve circulation and promote overall well-being. Understand the anatomy and physiology related to massage therapy, ensuring safe and effective treatments.
- Indian Head
This unit focuses on the traditional Indian head massage technique, incorporating massage movements to the head, neck and shoulders. Explore the cultural significance of Indian head massage, along with its therapeutic benefits in relieving stress, tension and promoting relaxation.
- Hot Stone Therapy
Hot stone therapy involves the use of heated stones to massage the body, providing deep relaxation and alleviating muscle tension. Learn how to safely heat and use stones as well as incorporate them into massage treatments to enhance the therapeutic effects and create a soothing experience for clients.
- Eyelash Extensions
This unit covers the application of semi-permanent eyelash extensions to enhance the length, curl and volume of natural lashes. Learn the techniques for assessing client needs, selecting appropriate extensions and safely applying them to achieve desired results while maintaining eye health and safety.
- Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skincare treatment that exfoliates and rejuvenates the skin by removing dead cells and stimulating cell renewal. Understand the equipment, techniques and safety protocols involved in microdermabrasion procedures, along with its benefits for addressing various skin concerns such as acne scars, fine lines and hyperpigmentation.
- Electrical Facials
This unit introduces the use of electrical devices and equipment in facial treatments to enhance skincare results. You will learn about different electrical modalities such as galvanic, high-frequency and microcurrent therapy and how to incorporate them into facial treatments for deep cleansing, toning and rejuvenating the skin. Acquire knowledge of contraindications, safety precautions and client consultation for electrical facial procedures.
