Who Should attend?
During this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to handle a wide range of emergency situations – from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions. You will be able to correctly administer treatment swiftly and decisively during a crucial emergency moment where every second counts.
This is the most common workplace First Aid course as it covers the most common life-threatening scenarios.

Course outline
Delivered by one of our Qualified First Aid trainers guiding you through all the practical life-saving techniques. Designed to be interactive, engaging, fun and memorable.
First Aid Priorities: This unit outlines the key principles guiding first aid response, emphasising the importance of rapid assessment and appropriate action to mitigate risks and preserve life and limb.
Managing Incidents: Participants learn systematic approaches to managing various types of emergencies, including assessing scene safety, activating emergency services, and organising bystander assistance effectively.
Basic Life Support: Here we cover essential techniques for providing immediate life-saving interventions, such as CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), to sustain circulation and oxygenation in cardiac arrest situations.
Examination of a Casualty: Participants acquire skills in assessing casualties for injuries or medical conditions, conducting primary and secondary surveys to identify and address immediate and potential threats to their health and well-being.
Unconsciousness: This section focuses on recognising and responding to unconscious casualties, including assessing airway, breathing, and circulation, as well as implementing appropriate measures to maintain their safety and support their recovery.
Control of Bleeding: Participants learn methods for effectively managing bleeding injuries, including direct pressure, elevation, and the application of dressings or tourniquets to control haemorrhage and minimise blood loss.
Burns and Scalds: This unit covers the assessment and initial management of burns and scalds, including appropriate first aid measures to alleviate pain, prevent further tissue damage, and promote healing.
Regulations: Participants gain an understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks governing first aid provision in the workplace, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and obligations.
First Aid Kits: This section familiarises participants with the contents, maintenance, and deployment of first aid kits, ensuring they are adequately equipped to address common workplace injuries and emergencies.
Recording and Reporting: Participants learn the importance of accurate documentation and reporting of first aid incidents, including proper recording of actions taken, casualty assessments, and communication with relevant authorities or stakeholders.

Qualifications
Approved by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) 40/21 (866) 3rd Party Certification via a United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) Accredited Certificatification Body
Assessments
Certification is dependent on successful continuous practical assessment and a multiple choice test.

Please be aware you will be required to perform a physical activity, if you are not able to bend down on hands and knees please let us know.
