Discover the art of makeup. Our makeup course teaches professional techniques for commercial application within the beauty industry. Our one day makeup course will teach you how to apply day and evening makeup. The makeup course also covers special occasion makeup.

Prior to applying any makeup, you are taught how to prepare your client’s skin through cleansing, toning and applying moisturiser to give your client an even and lasting effect to their makeup. You will learn how to use colour corrective products and foundations, blushers, eye and lip products to enhance your clients features along with the application of false lashes.

Course content

• Hygiene, Health & Safety: 
  • Maintain strict hygiene standards to ensure a clean and safe environment for both practitioners and clients including sanitisation of tools and work surfaces.
• Related Anatomy & Physiology: 
  • Understand the structure and function of the skin including different skin types, facial features and bone structure to apply makeup effectively and enhance natural beauty.
• Equipment and Products: 
  • Familiarise with makeup tools including brushes, sponges and applicators as well as various makeup products such as foundations, eyeshadows and lipsticks to create desired looks.
• Preparation of Treatment Room, Work Area and Client: 
  • Set up the treatment room and work area in accordance with hygiene standards and ensure clients are comfortable and informed about the makeup procedure.
• Contra-indications and Contra-actions: 
  • Identify any factors that may prevent or affect makeup application such as allergies, skin conditions or recent cosmetic procedures and take appropriate precautions.
• Client Consultation: 
  • Conduct thorough consultations to understand clients' preferences, skin concerns and desired makeup looks ensuring personalised and satisfactory results.
• General & Corrective Makeup Techniques: 
  • Master fundamental makeup techniques including foundation application, contouring, highlighting and concealing to enhance facial features and achieve flawless makeup looks.
• Techniques Providing Day, Evening and Special Occasion Makeup: 
  • Learn versatile makeup techniques suitable for various occasions, from natural daytime makeup to glamorous evening looks and special event makeup, catering to clients' individual preferences and needs.
• Aftercare Advice: 
  • Provide clients with post makeup care instructions, including tips for makeup removal, skincare routines and product recommendations, to maintain the longevity and quality of their makeup looks.
