VTCT NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy

This study programme covers a range of advanced beauty treatments, including specialised electrical face and body treatments, and electrolysis. You will also develop skills in general beauty therapy treatments, such as head and body massage for relaxation and stress relief.

Once you have completed your training, you will then complete your VTCT study at home, in your own time. The greatest benefit of this structure is its flexibility. With no need to commit to a college timetable or schedule, you can complete your case studies when you have the time to do them. The more time you can dedicate to working through them, the faster you will get your diploma.

Course content

• Working in Beauty-Related Industries: 
  • This module equips you with essential knowledge and skills for a career in the beauty industry. Topics covered include industry standards, professional conduct, customer service and employment opportunities. You will learn about different sectors within the beauty industry, such as salons, spas and wellness centres and gain insights into career pathways and advancement opportunities.
• Provide Facial Electrotherapy Treatments: 
  • You will learn to perform facial electrotherapy treatments using various electrical devices and techniques. This includes microcurrent therapy, galvanic facials, high-frequency treatments and LED light therapy. Through theoretical learning and practical demonstrations, you will understand how to assess clients' skin, select appropriate treatments and deliver safe and effective results.
• Provide Body Electrotherapy Treatments: 
  • This module focuses on delivering electrotherapy treatments for the body. You will learn about different devices and techniques used for body contouring, cellulite reduction and muscle toning. Practical training will cover the application of ultrasound therapy, electrical muscle stimulation and other body-focused electrotherapy treatments to address clients' specific needs and concerns.
• Provide Body Massage: 
  • You will master the art of body massage, including a variety of techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage and aromatherapy massage. You will learn how to assess clients' needs, perform massage treatments safely and effectively and create a relaxing environment conducive to healing and rejuvenation. Emphasis will be placed on proper body mechanics, client comfort and communication throughout the massage session.
• Client Care and Communication in Beauty-Related Industries: 
  • In this module, you will develop essential communication and interpersonal skills necessary for client care in beauty-related settings. Topics include effective communication strategies, active listening, client consultation techniques and building rapport. You will learn to assess clients' needs, address concerns and provide personalized recommendations for treatments and home care routines.
• Monitor and Maintain Health and Safety Practice in the Salon: 
  • You will learn to uphold high standards of health and safety in salon environments. This includes understanding relevant legislation, implementing hygiene protocols, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring equipment safety. You will be trained to identify potential hazards, mitigate risks and respond to emergencies effectively, ensuring the well-being of both clients and practitioners.
