First Steps to Skincare

This is a blended course where you will be given access to the theory packs, answer some questions and then come along to the practical training to achieve certification. During the course, you will learn all you need to know to gain the requirements from the insurance companies to progress onto beauty or aesthetics whether that be in Botox, Dermal Fillers, vitamin injections or so much more……

This course includes level 3 Anatomy & Physiology of the Body Systems, Facials including in depth skin. Superficial chemical peels, Micro-needling and finishing with Basic Life Support managing Anaphylaxis.

Course content:

• Facials

This unit explores the art and science of facials, covering essential topics such as skin analysis, cleansing techniques, and the application of various skincare products. • Microneedling

Microneedling involves the use of fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface. Learn the physiological responses triggered by these micro-injuries, such as collagen and elastin production, leading to skin rejuvenation and improved texture.

• Chemical Peel

Understand the diverse range of chemical agents utilised in peels, each designed to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin by removing damaged outer layers. Learn about the intricate mechanisms behind chemical peels, elucidating the physiological responses that lead to improved skin tone, reduced pigmentation, and the amelioration of various dermatological concerns. 

• A&P of the Skin

Understand the skin's structure and functions, looking into the fascinating realm of human anatomy. Learn about the layers of the skin, the intricate cellular mechanisms, and the vital role played by various body systems in maintaining skin health. Study facial anatomy, and the complexities involved in skincare procedures, and gain insights into the specific anatomical features of the face, enhancing their ability to tailor skincare treatments to individual needs. Understand the body's physiological systems, such as the integumentary, circulatory, and lymphatic systems.

• Consultation, Medical and Consent Requirements

Understand the pre-treatment processes that form the foundation for ethical and effective practice. Learn about the consultation process, emphasising its significance in understanding clients' needs, expectations, and medical history. Learn effective communication skills to establish rapport, assess aesthetic goals, and gather essential information to inform treatment planning.

• Contra-indications and Contra actions 

Contra-indications and Contra-actions, critical aspects that guide practitioners in ensuring the safety and appropriateness of aesthetic treatments. Gain a nuanced understanding of conditions and responses that may either contraindicate or present adverse reactions during or after aesthetic procedures.

• Pre-Care and Aftercare

Understand the critical role of thoughtful preparation and attentive follow-up in ensuring optimal outcomes and client satisfaction in aesthetic procedures.
