Level 4 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice

This level 4 certificate in Aesthetic practice will prepare you with the knowledge and understanding to gain a safe route to go into the aesthetic industry. It will be the foundation route to progress onto level 5 Certificate in Aesthetic practice.

The superficial chemical skin peels you learn will be at a basic level for peels to treat a variety of conditions including pigmentation, fine lines, acne and sun damage. Micro-needling is where a number of tiny needles are rolled across the skin’s surface. This brings fresh blood flow to the surface as your skin attempts to heal itself and in the process, improves the overall look of the skin.

How the course runs….

Once full payment is made, you will be emailed some start-up documentation to read and sign. As soon as we have your start-up paperwork and certificates emailed back to us.

The course theory work will be emailed out to you

This theory work will consist of – (Theory work must be referenced)

SAQ’s x 4 units (200-300 word answers are required for each question)

2 x Assignments (2500 words are required for each assignment)

10 x assessments using-

• 4 handheld micro-needling, 4 power-assisted and 4 medium-grade peels
• 6 x Case studies.

Once theory work has been sent in via email and marked by the course tutor, your practical assessments will be booked.

There will be a minimum of 2 practical days that you will be required to attend here at the academy. Which will consist of a demonstration followed by your practical assessments of chemical peel and micro-needling treatments. Models will be provided by the academy or you can bring them.

Course Units

• Health, Safety, and Hygiene for Aesthetic Procedures: 

This segment of the course emphasises the importance of maintaining high standards of health, safety and hygiene in aesthetic practice. You will learn about infection control protocols, proper sterilisation techniques for equipment and the safe disposal of medical waste. Understanding emergency procedures and ensuring a clean and sterile environment is vital to prevent the risk of infection and promote client safety.

• Client Consultation for Aesthetic Procedures: 

A thorough consultation process is essential for understanding clients' needs, expectations and medical history. You will learn effective communication skills to conduct comprehensive consultations, discussing clients' concerns, desired outcomes and any underlying medical conditions or allergies. Obtaining informed consent and managing client expectations are key aspects covered in this module.

• Skin Rejuvenation Using Microneedling: 

Microneedling is a popular aesthetic procedure for skin rejuvenation. You will learn about the principles of microneedling, including how it stimulates collagen production and promotes skin renewal. Practical training covers different microneedling techniques, equipment usage, needle selection and post procedure care. Understanding contraindications and potential side effects is crucial to ensure safe and effective treatment.

• Skin Rejuvenation Using Superficial Chemical Peels:

Superficial chemical peels are another effective method for skin rejuvenation. You will gain knowledge about different types of chemical peels, their ingredients and how they exfoliate the skin to improve texture, tone and clarity. Practical sessions focus on performing chemical peel treatments safely, including proper application techniques, peel selection based on skin type and condition and post treatment care. Understanding contraindications and how to manage adverse reactions is essential for delivering successful outcomes.
