Level 4 Certificate in Microblading to Enhance Eyebrows

This Regulated Level 4 Microblading course is suitable for anyone who wants to move into a semi-permanent makeup career or go into a level 5 certificate of aesthetic practice. Learn how to create microblading techniques in Brows. Covering both theory and practical learning. This qualification is one year course that is done both in the academy for over 3 days and at home.

How the course runs….

Once payment is made, you will be emailed some start-up documentation to read and sign. As soon as we have your start-up paperwork and certificates emailed back to us.

The course theory work will be emailed out to you and dates arranged for Theory and demonstration will be booked.

This theory work will consist of – (Theory work must be referenced) (A portfolio will be required of your work)

SAQ’s x 3 units (Approx 200 word answers are required for each question)

3 x Assessments (Minimum) possibly split up throughout the year

Once theory work has begun, it must be sent in via email and marked by the course tutor, your practical/ assessment sessions will then be booked. Once assessments are completed you have 12 weeks to produce 6 case studies.

You will be required to attend the academy for theory and practical assessments. Which will consist of demonstrations followed by your practical sessions to practice and sit assessments in Microblading treatments. Models will be provided by the academy. (On some occasions you may be required to bring some models)

Day 1 – Theory and Demonstration on Brows strokes

Course content:

• Brow Stroke Techniques: 

This segment delves into the intricacies of microblading strokes, teaching you how to create natural-looking eyebrow enhancements using precise and artistic techniques.

• Skin Structure & Composition: 

Understanding the skin's anatomy is crucial for safe and effective microblading. You will learn about skin layers, texture, and how these factors impact the microblading process.

• Hygiene (Sterilisation / Disinfection): 

Maintaining strict hygiene standards is paramount in microblading to prevent infections and ensure client safety. Techniques for sterilisation and disinfection are covered thoroughly.

• Skin Diseases:

Recognising various skin conditions is essential to assess clients' suitability for microblading and ensure proper care during the procedure.

• Indications and Contra-indications: 

You will learn to identify factors that make a client a suitable candidate for microblading, as well as conditions that may contraindicate the procedure.

• Basic knowledge of Pigments & Needles: 

Understanding pigments and needles is crucial for achieving desired colour and depth in microblading. This module covers pigment selection and needle types.

• Pre-care & Aftercare: 

Proper preparation and post procedure care significantly impact the success of microblading. You are educated on pre care measures to optimise results and aftercare practices for client comfort and safety.

• Practical: 

Hands-on training sessions allow you to apply theoretical knowledge, honing your microblading skills under the guidance of experienced instructors.

• Client Consultation: 

Effective communication and consultation skills are essential for understanding clients' expectations and ensuring satisfaction with the microblading results.

• Demonstration: 

Instructors provide live demonstrations, showcasing proper microblading techniques and best practices for you to observe and emulate.

• Assessments: 

You will undergo three assessments to evaluate your understanding and proficiency in microblading techniques, ensuring readiness for certification.

Microblading on models is under constant supervision by your Tutor (6 case studies will be required to complete your qualification at your location). 

Case study requirements (12 weeks to complete 6 case studies- full brow no top-ups with learner reflection)

The course is made up of 3 mandatory units assessed by assignments, questions and practical assessments.

Course Units:

Health, Safety and Hygiene for Aesthetic Procedures: 

Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment is paramount in aesthetic procedures to ensure client safety and prevent the spread of infections. You will be trained in proper sterilisation and disinfection techniques for equipment and workspaces. You will learn to adhere to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and face masks. Emphasis is placed on creating a clean and sterile environment to minimise the risk of complications and promote optimal treatment outcomes.

Client Consultation for Aesthetic Procedures: 

Effective client consultation is essential for understanding their needs, expectations and medical history to provide tailored aesthetic treatments. You will learn to conduct thorough consultations, discussing clients' concerns, desired outcomes and any medical conditions or allergies they may have. By assessing clients' suitability for treatments and discussing potential risks and benefits, you will ensure informed consent and build trust with your clients. Communication skills are honed to establish rapport and manage client expectations throughout the treatment process.

You will be trained in various microblading techniques, including stroke patterns, depth control and pigment selection. You will learn to assess clients' facial features and desired brow shape to create bespoke enhancements that complement their natural beauty.
