Level 4 Diploma in Aesthetic Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation

For direct entry to the QUALIFI Level 4 Diploma in Aesthetic Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation the unit AP301 Skincare to support aesthetic procedures must be selected as one of the optional units to ensure learners have the essential underpinning knowledge for the various aesthetic procedure units within the qualification.

This Regulated Diploma is suitable for anyone who wants to move into the aesthetic industry with no regulated level 3 beauty qualification and wants to move forward with gaining a regulated level 5 certificate of aesthetic practice.

We are covering both theory and practical learning. This qualification is a year course that is done both in the academy for 5-10 separate days throughout the course.

Theory work will be done from home.

This qualification has 6 units including - Superficial Peels, Microneedling, Anatomy and Physiology, Skincare H&S and Consultation. (or Dermaplaning can be swapped for either Peels or Microneedling)

How the course runs….

Once payment is made, you will be emailed some start-up documentation to read and sign. As soon as we have your start-up paperwork and certificates emailed back to us.

Some course theory work will be emailed out to you and dates arranged for theory and practical demonstrations will be booked.

This theory work will consist of – (A portfolio will be required of your work)

SAQ’s for each unit (Approx 200 word answers are required for each question)

Practical Assessments possibly split up throughout the year

You will be required to attend the academy for theory and practical assessments.  Which will consist of demonstrations followed by your Practical sessions to practice and sit assessments in the above units minimum of 4 each.  Models will be provided by the academy. (On some occasions you may be required to bring some models)

Visit 1 – Theory and Demonstration peels, Micro-needling, or Dermaplaning

Visit 2-6 – Practical Clients

Visit 4 / 10 – Assessments / Exams

Course Content:

• Anatomy and Physiology: 

Understanding the anatomy and physiology of the skin is crucial in aesthetic procedures. You will delve into the structure and functions of the skin, including its layers, composition and how it reacts to various treatments.

• Microneedling & Superficial Peels: 

This segment covers the techniques of microneedling and superficial chemical peels. You will learn how these procedures rejuvenate the skin by promoting collagen production, improving texture and addressing various skin concerns.

• Skin Structure & Composition: 

Comprehending the skin's structure and composition aids in understanding how different treatments interact with the skin. You will explore the layers of the skin, its components and how it varies across different body areas.

• Hygiene (Sterilisation / Disinfection): 

Maintaining strict hygiene standards is essential in aesthetic procedures to prevent infections and ensure client safety. Training includes sterilisation and disinfection protocols for equipment and treatment areas.

• Skin Diseases: 

Understanding common skin diseases and conditions is imperative for assessing clients' suitability for treatments. You will study various skin conditions, their characteristics and how they may impact treatment outcomes.

• Indications and Contra-indications: 

Recognising when aesthetic procedures are suitable or unsuitable for clients is crucial. This section covers the indications and contraindications for microneedling, chemical peels and other skin rejuvenation treatments.

• Tools & Equipment: 

You will become familiar with the tools and equipment used in microneedling, chemical peels and other skin rejuvenation procedures. Training includes proper handling, maintenance and safety precautions.

• Pre-care & Aftercare: 

Proper pre-care and aftercare instructions are vital for treatment success and client satisfaction. You will be trained in providing comprehensive pre treatment preparation and post procedure care guidance to clients.

• Practical: 

Hands-on practical sessions allow you to apply their theoretical knowledge in a supervised setting. This includes performing microneedling, chemical peels and other skin rejuvenation procedures on models under the guidance of instructors.

• Client Consultation: 

Effective client consultation is essential for understanding their needs, concerns and expectations. Training encompasses communication skills, conducting thorough assessments and developing tailored treatment plans.

• Demonstrations: 

Instructor-led demonstrations provide you with step-by-step guidance on performing microneedling, chemical peels and other skin rejuvenation treatments. This allows you to observe proper techniques before practising them independently.
