Level 5 Certificate In Aesthetic Practice

How the course runs….

This theory work will consist of: (Theory work must be referenced)

SAQ’s x 5 units (200-300 word answers are required for each question)

2 x Assignments ( 2500 words are required for each assignment)

12 x assessments using:

• 4 handheld micro-needling, 4 power-assisted, and 4 medium-grade peels
• The same amount of case studies.

There will be a minimum of 2 practical days that you will be required to attend here at the academy. Which will consist of a demonstration followed by your Practical assessments of chemical peel and micro-needling treatments. Models will be provided by the academy or you can bring them.

Course Units

• Legal and Regulatory Requirements in Aesthetic Practice: 

This unit covers the laws, regulations, and ethical considerations relevant to aesthetic practice. Learn about professional conduct, patient consent, advertising standards, and how to navigate legal issues in the aesthetic industry.

• Professional Standards within Aesthetic Practice: 

This unit focuses on the high standards of professionalism expected in aesthetic practice. It covers areas such as patient confidentiality, maintaining records, infection control, and continuous professional development to ensure practitioners deliver safe and effective treatments.

• Working Collaboratively with Healthcare Professionals: 

In this unit, you will learn the importance of collaboration between aesthetic practitioners and other healthcare professionals. Topics include referral pathways, interdisciplinary communication, and working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.

• Anatomy, Physiology, and Morphology of the Ageing Face: 

This unit delves into the intricate anatomy, physiology, and morphology of the ageing face. Gain a comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy, how ageing affects facial structures, and the role of various interventions in addressing age-related changes.

• Skin Micro-needling and Chemical Peels: 

This unit focuses on two common aesthetic treatments: skin micro-needling and chemical peels. Learn about the principles behind these treatments, their indications and contraindications, techniques for safe application, and post-treatment care to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
