Professional Hair Styling

The Professional Hair Styling course is designed to provide comprehensive training in the art of hairstyling. You will learn a wide range of techniques and styles, from classic looks to contemporary trends. Led by experienced instructors, this course offers hands-on practice and theoretical knowledge to develop skills in styling hair. Whether aspiring to work in a salon or as a freelance stylist, this course equips individuals with the expertise and confidence needed to excel in the dynamic field of hairdressing. The course covers a range of styles, perfect for bridal looks including jewellery setting or other occasion hair styles.

These courses will be taught with a maximum of 4 students at one time. Upon completion you will receive an accredited certification and all material needed to complete the course will be provided. 

Course content

Introduction to Hair Styling Techniques:

• Overview of hair styling tools and products
• Introduction to basic styling methods like curling, straightening and teasing

Understanding Hair Types and Textures:

• Identifying different hair textures (straight, wavy, curly)
• Understanding the characteristics of each hair type and how they affect styling

Bridal Hairstyles: Traditional and Contemporary:

• Classic bridal updos and bun styles
• Modern bridal looks with loose curls or waves
• Incorporating veils, tiaras and other accessories

Jewellery Setting and Hair Accessories:

• Techniques for securely placing hairpins, clip, and combs
• How to integrate jewellery and accessories into hairstyles
• Tips for ensuring accessories complement the hairstyle and overall look

Occasion Hairstyles: Evening Events, Parties and Proms:

• Creating glamorous hairstyles suitable for special occasions
• Styling techniques for achieving volume and drama
• Incorporating elements like braids, twists and intricate detailing

Updos and Formal Hairstyles:

• Step-by-step instructions for creating elegant updos
• Techniques for achieving sleek, polished finishes
• Variations of updos suitable for different face shapes and hair lengths

Client Consultation and Communication Skills:

• Importance of understanding client preferences and expectations
• Effective communication techniques for discussing hairstyle options
• How to assess client needs and provide appropriate recommendations

About Geet Soni

I am Geet Soni, also known as Jasleen Kaur, your instructor, motivator and guide at Makeup with Geet Soni Academy. I have been a business entrepreneur in the make-up and hair industry for over a decade, specialising in pre-wedding shoots, bridal makeup, catwalk modelling shows and even music video shoots.

Leveraging the experience that I have gained from working extensively across a vast range of fields in this industry, has enabled me to branch out into creating an academy for training the aspiring make-up artists of today. My goal and mission are to empower women in this field, to help them build their careers with an enthusiasm that will later go on to become a stepping stone for reaching greater heights.

In the last 10 years, I have inspired and trained hundreds of students into actualising their true calling in life. They have experienced an immense boost in their level of confidence that has enabled them to make a difference in their life and make their dreams a reality. I can say with immense pride that many of my students have landed massive opportunities that have placed them at the forefront of the beauty industry, catering to major celebrities as well as retaining dozens of repeat customers.
