12 Week Hard Gel Course

The 12 Week Hard Gel Course is delivered by Celebrity Nail Artist and Brillbird Educator Sarah Evans giving you the most complete introduction to nails and providing them with the best tools to start being a Nail Artist. The course is constantly updated to ensure you receive training on the most recent and innovative nail application techniques. 

We focus everything on you to ensure you leave with the knowledge and skills to becoming a professional nail technician. Our nail courses are designed to ease your nerves, build confidence and get you on the path to a successful career in nails. Becoming a professionally qualified nail technician will allow you to have a job you love and enjoy no matter whether you decide to work in a salon or open your own nail business. If you are serious about learning the art of nails from a world-renowned expert, this course is for you.

Course structure

The course is 12 lessons in class, after passing each units assessment in class you will complete case studies at home and have lifetime support and feedback.

Throughout and following the training, you will be required to do assessments and to submit 8 case studies to show that you have retained and practiced the training. Your certifications will be awarded to you once you have successfully passed those. As any learning experience, you will only get as good as the effort you put in and we will be behind you to help you get the best out of yourself!

You will gain an Hard Gel qualification accredited by ABT.

Course content

• Tip & overlay:
  • Applying nail tips and overlaying with acrylic or gel.
• Reverse French:
  • Creating a French manicure with the colour at the cuticle and white at the tip.
• Natural tips:
  • Application of acrylic or gel on natural nails without extensions.
• Infills:
  • Filling in the growth gap at the base of acrylic or gel nails.
• Ombre:
  • Gradual blending of one colour to another, creating a subtle gradient effect.
• Encapsulated glitter:
  • Sealing glitter between layers of acrylic or gel for a sparkly finish.
• 3D gel:
  • Sculpting raised designs using gel.
• Gel designs:
  • Creating various designs and patterns using gel.
• Beginners shapes:
  • Learning to shape nails into square, squoval, almond, and round/oval.
• Smile lines:
  • Forming the curve at the base of French manicures.
• Health and safety:
  • Understanding safe practices to prevent infection and injury.
• Anatomy & physiology:
  • Studying the structure and function of the nails and surrounding tissues.

Additional information

A model for practice and assessments on some weeks will be needed, if you are struggling to find a model we can try to find one for you, please let us know when booking if you have a model or not.
