The course covers topics such as client consultation, safety procedures, lash mapping, application methods and post-treatment care. Through practical training and theoretical learning, students become proficient in creating beautiful and long-lasting lash enhancements, preparing them for a career as certified lash technicians in the beauty industry.

Course structure

The course is 2 lessons in class followed by case studies completed at home with lifetime support and feedback.

Following the training, you will be required to submit 6 case studies to show that you have retained and practiced the training. Your certification which is fully accredited with ABT will be awarded to you once you have successfully passed those. As any learning experience, you will only get as good as the effort you put in and we will be behind you to help you get the best out of yourself!

Course content

UK legislation and health & safety:

• Understanding legal requirements and safety protocols in the UK beauty industry.

Eye and lash anatomy:

• Studying the structure and function of the eye and lashes for safe and effective application.

Contraindications & contra-actions:

• Identifying conditions that may prevent or affect lash extensions and appropriate actions.

Client consultation and patch testing:

• Communicating with clients to assess suitability and conducting patch tests for allergies.

Growth cycles and lash sheds:

• Understanding natural lash growth cycles and how they impact extension retention.

Client expectations and meeting them:

• Managing client expectations and delivering satisfactory results.

Types of natural lashes:

• Recognising different lash conditions and selecting appropriate extensions.

Lash direction, correctional work:

• Techniques for correcting lash direction and achieving uniformity.

Lash mapping and styling:

• Planning and executing lash layouts for desired looks.

Creating symmetry and infill procedure:

• Achieving balanced lash sets and maintaining them with infill procedures.

Why we don't infill others' work:

• Providing a new set of lashes allows for a thorough assessment of the client's needs and preferences, ensuring a personalised and satisfactory outcome.

Client aftercare and pricing:

• Advising clients on care and determining pricing strategies.

Practical:

• All students will work on a mannequin on Day 1, prior to working on their model on Day 2.

Select the correct length, curl and thickness for their model

• Selecting the correct length, curl, and thickness of lash extensions based on the model's natural lashes and desired look.

Client cleansing

• Cleansing the client's lashes using a gentle cleanser to remove any makeup, oil, or debris.

Pad/ tape application

• Applying pads or tape to protect the lower lashes and eyelids during the lash extension application process.

Fan application

• Creating fans of lash extensions by picking up multiple extensions with adhesive for efficient and precise application.

Lash mapping

• Mapping out the desired lash design on the client's eyelids to ensure symmetry and balance.

Building their structure

• Building the structure of the lash set by strategically placing extensions to achieve the desired fullness and length.

Filling their set

• Filling any gaps or sparse areas in the lash set to create a seamless and uniform look.

Checking for stickies

• Checking for any adhesive residue on the lashes and removing them for a clean finish.

Checking for uniformity

• Ensuring uniformity and symmetry across the lash set by adjusting any uneven or misplaced extensions.

Finishing your set

• Adding finishing touches to the lash set, such as separating and fluffing the lashes for a natural and voluminous appearance.

Maintenance infills

• Performing maintenance infills as needed to keep the lash set looking full and fresh over time.

Removal of eyelash extensions

• Safely removing eyelash extensions using a professional removal solution and technique when desired or necessary.

Additional information

All students will be required to work on & bring along a model on the second day only, please ensure all models that have healthy full natural lashes that are free of product. Models can be provided for a £25 fee.
