Foundation Facial

The foundation facial training course provides fundamental instruction in skincare treatments. You will learn essential techniques such as cleansing, exfoliation and moisturisation, along with basic massage and mask application. This course is ideal for beginners looking to enter the beauty industry or enhance their skills. Through theoretical learning and practical demonstrations, you will gain a solid understanding of facial treatments, preparing you for working in salons or spas.

With your professional qualification, you'll enjoy a fulfilling role, whether working in a spa or as an independent therapist. Course structure

The course is 1 lesson in class followed by case studies completed at home with lifetime support and feedback.

Following the training, you will be required to submit 6 case studies to show that you have retained and practiced the training. Your certification which is fully accredited with ABT will be awarded to you once you have successfully passed those. As any learning experience, you will only get as good as the effort you put in and we will be behind you to help you get the best out of yourself!

Course content

UK legislation:

• Understanding of legal regulations governing beauty treatments in the UK.

UK health & safety:

• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines applicable to salon environments in the UK.

Anatomy:

• Understanding of facial anatomy and physiology relevant to facial treatments.

Contraindications & contra-actions:

• Identification of conditions and reactions that may prevent or affect facial treatments.

Client consultation:

• Proficiency in conducting consultations to assess client needs and preferences.

Client aftercare:

• Ability to provide appropriate guidance and instructions for post-treatment care.

Skin analysis:

• Competence in analysing skin conditions to determine suitable treatments.

Treatment procedure:

• Mastery of step-by-step procedures for performing facial treatments.

Facial techniques:

• Application of various techniques such as cleansing, exfoliating and massaging during facials.

Luxury facial:

• Knowledge and skills required to deliver premium and indulgent facial treatments.

Additional information

All students will be required to work on & bring along a model. Models can be provided for a £25 fee.

Students are required to purchase a kit for the course.
