Gel Polish

Our course equips individuals with the skills needed to apply and maintain gel polish. You will also cover topics such as hygiene, health and safety, client consultation and aftercare. Through practical training and theoretical lessons, students develop proficiency in creating beautiful and long-lasting gel nail enhancements, preparing them for a career in the nail industry.

Course structure

The course is 1 lesson in class followed by case studies completed at home with lifetime support and feedback.

Following the training, you will be required to submit 8 case studies to show that you have retained and practiced the training. Your certification which is fully accredited with ABT will be awarded to you once you have successfully passed those. As any learning experience, you will only get as good as the effort you put in and we will be behind you to help you get the best out of yourself!

Application of coloured gel polish

• Recommendations for preserving nail health and appearance.

Product knowledge

• Understanding different types of gel polish products available in the market.
• Selection criteria based on quality, durability and client preferences.

Health & safety

• Importance of maintaining hygiene standards during gel polish application.
• Protocols for disinfection, sanitation and waste disposal.

Client consultation

• Techniques for effective communication with clients to understand their preferences and expectations.

Contra-indications

• Identification of conditions that may contraindicate gel polish application.
• Considerations for client safety and well-being.

Cuticle work

• Proper care and maintenance of cuticles to enhance nail appearance and health.
• Techniques for gentle cuticle removal without causing damage.

Filing techniques

• Demonstrations of filing methods to shape and refine the nails.
• Tips for achieving desired nail shapes and lengths.

Additional information

All students will be required to work on & bring along a model  on week one, please ensure all models nails are fully free of product.
