Perfect nails are rare, as our hands are constantly being used to perform a vast number of tasks. In this course, you will be shown all aspects of nail, hand & foot care, the correct way to care for the nails and the products required to perform a manicure and pedicure.

These courses are ideal if you want to add a new skill to your career, are wanting to refresh your knowledge after time away from your practice, or to get a taster of what the beauty industry is like prior to completing a VTCT international qualification.

These level 2 beauty day courses in Nottingham are designed to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform these treatments professionally and safely. They are also an excellent way to add new treatments to your salon or spa menu and increase your earning potential.

As we are accredited with the Beauty Guild, this will mean you can be insured to carry out treatments after you have completed your qualification.  The Beauty Guild is not an international or regulated training body.

Course content

• Introduction, Reception, Consultation & Ventilation:
  • Welcoming clients and ensuring proper ventilation in the salon.
  • Conducting consultations to understand client preferences and any health concerns.
• Anatomy & Physiology:
  • Studying the structure and function of the hands, feet, nails and surrounding tissues.
  • Understanding how the body systems contribute to nail health.
• Contra Actions & Contra Indications:
  • Identifying conditions that may prevent or limit manicure and pedicure treatments.
  • Understanding how to adapt treatments for client safety.
• Preparation:
  • Preparing the workstation and tools for manicure and pedicure procedures.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene to prevent infection.
• Technique:
  • Learning manicure and pedicure techniques including nail shaping, cuticle care and exfoliation.
  • Mastering polish application and nail art techniques.
• Treatment Adaptations & Aftercare:
  • Adapting treatments for clients with specific nail conditions or preferences.
  • Providing aftercare advice to maintain nail health and prolong the effects of the treatment.
• Practical Module:
  • Applying theoretical knowledge to practical manicure and pedicure sessions.
  • Developing proficiency and confidence in delivering professional nail care services.
