The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation is a vocationally related qualification and is focused on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using intense pulse light and laser treatments. This qualification requires you to develop skills to carry out IPL and laser treatments. This qualification allows you to gather evidence in a realistic working environment or real working environment without the need for fee paying clients.

Course content

• Provide Electrical Epilation:

  • Utilise specialised equipment to target hair follicles.
  • Ensure thorough consultation and patch testing prior to treatment.
• Advanced Epilation Techniques:
  • Implement advanced methods for permanent hair removal.
  • Address challenging hair growth patterns and skin types.

• Laser and Light Treatments for Hair Removal:
  • Apply laser and IPL technologies to remove unwanted hair.
  • Assess client suitability and conduct patch testing.
  • Deliver safe and effective hair removal treatments.
• Laser and Light Treatments for Skin Rejuvenation:
  • Utilise lasers and IPL devices for skin rejuvenation.
  • Target specific skin concerns such as pigmentation and wrinkles.
  • Adjust treatment parameters for optimal results.
• Management of Health, Safety and Security in the Salon:
  • Implement health and safety protocols to ensure salon compliance.

Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety whilst looking in depth at the physiology of aging. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with and manage clients. Learners will learn how to provide a range of beauty treatments including basic and advanced epilation along with laser and IPL applications in order to make informed decisions for the purpose of hair removal and skin rejuvenation.

In parallel, learners will develop their communication, problem solving and research skills, their awareness of environmental sustainability and their commercial and customer service skills, all of which are valued highly by employers.
