The VTCT Level 3 NVQ Award in Single Eyelash Extensions has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in applying individual permanent lashes. You will have a sound knowledge of health and safety practice in a salon environment.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in eyelash extension treatments and provide you with the foundation for further learning or progression into specialist employment or self employment.

• Client Consultation and Assessment for Eyelash Extensions:
  • Understanding client preferences and expectations.
  • Assessing natural lash condition and suitability for extensions.
• Health, Safety, and Hygiene Practices in Eyelash Extension Treatments:
  • Maintaining cleanliness of tools, workstation and environment.
  • Adhering to hygiene protocols to prevent infection or irritation.
• Selecting Appropriate Lash Types, Lengths and Styles for Clients:
  • Considering client's eye shape, facial features and desired look.
  • Recommending suitable lash types, lengths, curls and thickness.
• Eyelash Extension Application Techniques:
  • Isolating natural lashes to prevent sticking.
  • Bonding extensions securely and precisely onto natural lashes.
  • Placing extensions to achieve desired length, volume and curl.
• Maintenance and Infill Procedures for Extended Lash Retention:
  • Performing infills to maintain fullness and longevity of lash extensions.
  • Ensuring proper removal and replacement of grown-out or damaged extensions.
• Providing Aftercare Advice and Instructions to Clients:
  • Educating clients on proper care and maintenance of lash extensions.
  • Advising on makeup removal, sleeping positions and avoiding oil-based products.
• Recognising and Managing Contra-indications and Contra-actions:
  • Identifying conditions or circumstances that may affect treatment suitability.
  • Knowing how to respond to adverse reactions or complications.
• Record-keeping and Documentation for Client Treatments:
  • Maintaining accurate client records, including treatment details and observations.
  • Recording patch test results, client preferences and any issues encountered.
• Evaluating Client Satisfaction and Addressing Feedback:
  • Seeking client feedback to assess service quality and client experience.
  • Addressing any concerns or dissatisfaction promptly and professionally.
