In this unit, students deepen their understanding of sports massage techniques and their application in addressing specific client needs and goals. Explore a wide range of advanced massage modalities, including deep tissue massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques such as trigger point therapy and positional release technique, and some advanced stretching techniques such as MET's and soft tissue release. Through practical training and theoretical study, you will learn how to effectively apply these techniques to alleviate muscle tension, improve flexibility, enhance circulation, and optimize athletic performance.
- Unit 3 – Understanding Treatment to Support Injury Rehabilitation
Unit 3 focuses on understanding and implementing sports massage treatments to support injury rehabilitation processes. Learn about the stages of injury healing, common sports injuries, and the role of sports massage in promoting recovery and rehabilitation. Explore advanced techniques for addressing acute and chronic injuries, managing inflammation, reducing scar tissue formation, and restoring optimal function and range of motion. Additionally you will gain insights into designing comprehensive rehabilitation plans, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and supporting clients through the recovery process.
